Tribes in the Dark is a new version of Dream Pod 9’s post-apocalyptic, dark fantasy role-playing game Tribe 8, built using Forged in the Dark. Vimary-the world of Tribe 8-is full of dream magic, spirits, prophecies and visions. Body-possessing demons known as Z’bri vie for humanity’s fate against demigoddesses made of metal and junk called the Fatimas. Each of the seven Fatimas lead a tribe of their human followers, struggling to survive amidst the post-apocalyptic ruins of our civilization.

The new system uses a custom implementation of Forged in the Dark tweaked to support stories within the Tribe 8 setting. Tribes in the Dark will be familiar to those who have played FitD games yet easy to pick up by newcomers. Character creation is as fast as making a few playbook choices, putting you right into your character’s shoes as one of the Fallen-an outcast from the Seven Tribes-without having to read pages of setting material.
