SAT-02: Dogs in the Vineyard, Desert Blessing

Post by John Powell » June 24th, 2010, 10:40 am

Through the game lottery/donut/whatever I ended up playing a good game of Dogs during this session.

GM: James Brown (The Hardest Working Dad at GPNW!)

The Dogs were:

John Powell: Zachariah Young, a spoiled rich kid, one of the many grandsons of Brigham Young. Excellent gunfighter, not too good at anything else. Discovered he had a mean streak a mile wide in play.

Ogre: Zebadiah, a man of words, not action.

Don Frazier: Josie, pious and eager to perform his duties as a Dog.

Justin Racurs: Pax, a gentle soul who is nonetheless faithful to his calling.

A great effort to portray a really interesting town in a short time slot, with two players new to Dogs (Don and Justin). Thanks again James!

I love Desert Blessing. Any town where what the demons want is: "for the dogs to go overboard and shoot some folk" is joy to play out.

My favorite part was when the Steward said (to the Dog who had just threatened to pistol-whip him) "Son, if that's what you feel needs to happen to set things right, then that's what you have to do."

James
