SUN-02 Trouble in Hochen (Burning Wheel Revised, FULL)

Post by Zelbinian » June 27th, 2011, 4:40 am

This scenario can accommodate up to 5 players. It's a gritty, dark fantasy with that great old-school-party-of-adventurers-on-a-mission vibe. No experience with Burning Wheel is required! Here's the standard pitch:
You're dispatched to a remote village - a snowy, mountain town called Hochen steeped in Eastern European flavor - that is being plagued by a demon. You have to confront it. Some of you are there for duty, others are there due to obligations of family or friendship.
Haven't run this particular scenario for anyone, but I'm fairly well versed in Burning Wheel. I'll provide two sets of the core books, pre-genned character sheets, miscellaneous sheets. I'll have some dice, but bringing ~8 D6s along with you would be appreciated.

If you're interested, I recommend getting up to speed on the basics with a free download of the first couple chapters of The Burning Wheel RPG System before playing - gets us into the game that much quicker!

Count me in.

I'm moderately experience in BW and will bring books and dice.

Excellent! Glad to have you guys at the table. I hope we get at least one brand new player, though. :)

Here are the characters for Trouble in Hochen. You don't have to print them out - I'll bring them with me in plastic sleeves - but please choose one prior to the game so we can jump in. First come first served!

Ryan, don't worry about the mechanical details if you don't want to - I'm happy to explain anything and everything you're confused about at the table. However, feel free to make use of the forums if you wanna jump in with both feet. You can also ask me in real time in the IRC channel on server irc.synirc.net, channel #BurningWheel

I've only done human-centric stuff with BW so far. I'll take Cerebirn for the chance to get to know the elves.

That's assuming we fill up, though. If we don't get another player I'll happily grab whichever one of the 3-player recommended characters (wizard, priest, knight) isn't picked.

If you dudes need an extra player, I'll join in!

I would love to give Burning Wheel a try. Never played, I have the books around here somewhere which I only glanced at briefly. The knight Gunter looks interesting to me.
