FRI-01 House of Cards (Playtest) FULL

Post by Eric J. Boyd » June 28th, 2011, 1:08 am

$500 million in Russian mob money in a freight car traveling to Beijing, the vault at the Antwerp Diamond Exchange, the encrypted logs of a D.C. madame, a mysterious briefcase handcuffed to a government agent--which of these will we steal tonight?

You are a crew of hyper-competent thieves, each with a role to play in the job. You’ve cased the joint and carefully planned, but no plan survives the chaos of a job like this. And you each have your own reasons for doing the job, reasons that could drive you to betray your crew out of greed, desperation, or revenge.

House of Cards is my game in development emulating heist and caper films in an evening's play. I'm close to releasing a free beta to the world (you can take a peek at the text in progress here), but can use fresh eyes and the input of awesome gamers.

I've got room for 4 players.

Couple years now I been lookin' at this job. I've scoped it all out and it's foolproof. Just one more score and I can retire...

Eric, I'll be playing some Fiasco in that slot. I'm just sure JFK will survive this time. But I'd love to hear your thoughts on your game and learn about the playtest. Let's definitely compare notes!

Thanks for the awesome in-character responses folks! You've got the vibe.

Chris, I'll look forward to a chance to compare notes with you and any other interested yeggs.

That vault isn't just going to open itself.
