FRI-01 Indie-style D&D. Up to 5 players.

Post by JonathanTweet » May 29th, 2010, 12:00 pm

Part old-school D&D, part indie-style simplicity and free-form play.

This is my own system, inspired by old-school D&D but jazzed up and streamlined in 4E fashion.

When you pick your class (fighter, cleric, wizard, paladin, elf, dwarf), you also define what that class means in the world and who your character is as a representative of the class. If you're playing the dwarf, you decide what dwarf culture is like, etc. Only one character of each class at the table.

Characters are simple like old-school D&D but with interesting powers like 4E. Ditto the monsters.

We'll create characters, which is fast. Then we'll have an adventure session, which is also pretty fast.

My buddy Peter is taking the wizard. Remaining available classes are fighter, cleric, paladin, elf, and dwarf.

I'll step up (or is it kneel down?) and play the dwarf.

Sounds like fun! However my Friday night is still up in the air, so I'll check back...

I'm definitely in! Would love to play the Elf, but I'm not picky.

If I'm reading this correctly, there's still a slot for a cleric open? If that's true, I'm in for that.

Fighter still available

Post by JonathanTweet » June 7th, 2010, 6:46 am

Looks like the group is rounding out. Last class available is the fighter. My fighter class is more fun than the 0 ed fighter.

This sounds like a lot of fun. Is the Fighter still "up for grabs" ? If so, I'm in.

Sounds really fun. If you have an open seat, I'll play whatever.
