SUN01 Improv for Gamers Level 2
Posted: June 1st, 2015, 12:22 pm
Whaaaaat. We're also running Level 2.
Location:
Last year we ran the workshop in the upstairs lounge of the residence hall. If we can snag that spot again, great! If not we may take this outside to somewhere shady, or maybe the rec-room in the basement?
About the Workshop:
As a gamer you may have heard that improv is closely tied to role-playing, especially in narrative-based games. It’s true, improv theater teaches many skills that can make your game rock: working together, keeping things interesting, and taking risks. The goal of this workshop series is to highlight those skills (and more!) as they apply to role-playing games through improv exercises and scenework.
Level 2 is designed with GMs in mind — how to keep the story dynamic, full of energy, and on time. Participants will collaborate in world-building, pacing and cutting scenes, and doing advanced scenework. For this workshop we ask that attendees have prior improv experience. (yes, just the Level 1 workshop counts!). Prepare to be in the spotlight!
Wear comfortable shoes and maybe bring a bottle of water. You will be on your feet a lot!
Slots:
1. Christian Griffen
2. Dave Weinstein
3. John Aegard
4. Victoria Garcia
5. Chris Paul
6. Miles Gaborit
7. Alan Barclay
8.
No looky-loos. Having an audience can discourage people from letting loose and getting truly comfortable.
