SAT-02 Adaon (early playtest) [2/4]

Adaon is the working title for my optimistic, fantasy, post-apocalyptic RPG. Here's the pitch:

A great misfortune overtook the world long ago and plunged it into shadow. Not that the old world was some glittering beacon of justice and brotherhood, but it had grown, as civilizations do, on a winding, sometimes faltering, path toward betterment. When calamity came, a group of people banded together with one purpose: to hold on to whatever they could of the progress that had been made. They would keep whatever wisdom they could find safe through the darkness to come. And when the world was ready once more, they would kindle the flames of rebirth, ready to help make a new and better world. These few became the Bearers of the Light. And in the darkness, their order grew ever stronger.

You play Bearers many years after the fall. You travel the dangerous wilderness fulfilling your mission. Maybe you search ancient ruins to recover the knowledge of a world now faded. Maybe you bring news to scattered people. Maybe you hunt down beasts or people who have been twisted so far by the wild magic that broke the world that they can't be saved. Whatever your calling, you look toward the future with hope. You have faith that a better world is waiting, and you do your best to bring it out.

The system is fundamentally Powered by the Apocalypse, though basically nothing is exactly the same as the original.
