A six-player historical wargame about the Reformation! Going up against TI4 in the same slots will be tough, but it is the best place for an up-to-eight hour game.
You do not need to have played before, but some experience in board wargames will help, and you'll be required to read the rules if you sign up for a faction. Fortunately, the rules for most factions are pretty straight-forward, considering, and I've played it more than a dozen times at this point, so we'll get moving quickly.
Check Roger's re-review of recent updates for some details: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/200273 ... l-fighting
And the designer's "Here I Stand in 20 minutes" quickstart: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/ ... 20-minutes
Ottomans: Brandon A.
Hapsburgs: Wilhelm Fitzpatrick
English: Tony Dowler
French: Tracy
Papacy: Adam Blinkinsop
Protestant: Henry L
I'll take whatever's left over, generally the Hapsburgs because of the rules weight. We'll play the shorter scenario to avoid some degenerate paths in the first three turns and get to the good stuff.

I was hoping you'd be in. You've played before, right?

Oh, I'd love to get in on this! I've never played, but I picked up the 500th Anniversary reprint, so I'll be sure to read up before we play. And I'm fine with any faction.

You're in! If everyone's so flexible, I'll roll random factions for you all.

I'm interested, but not fully committed. I've played Virgin Queen a couple of times, but not Here I stand. If you end up with a 7th person who really wants to play, I'm willing to bow out.

In and in!
Brandon: I'd be surprised if we overflow.

After chatting with another friend of mine about Here I Stand, I rescind my willingness to be bumped.
