FATE - Show Me Where I Am Going Wrong

I'd really, really love for someone to show me why FATE is so popular. I have played it a few times (Diaspora once, Spirit of the Century once) and both times I just didn't "get" it.

Can someone run me a game of FATE and help me get it? I feel dumb and I want to like it more but I feel like I'm doing it wrong.

Don't think I'm the guy to run it but Fate is one of the main things I'm looking to play as well. I'm enjoying the system but I really want to see how others play it. Ryan Macklin from Evil Hat has said that he intends to be a Go Play so there's a very good chance we'll see some Fate.
