Turn up the dial on cozy vibes and spend your Sunday morning chilling, chatting, and hanging out while I make some pancakes. You want pancakes? Well–then you should make some along with me using the following recipe.
Easy-breezy pancakes from scratch–
Ingredients
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-2 teaspoons baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
-1 Tablespoons honey (or white sugar)
-1 cup milk (or milk alternative)
-3 Tablespoons softened butter, divided
-1 egg, beaten
Note: If you don’t have milk, you can get substitute with water, but your pancakes will turn out a little less rich.
Ideas for Toppings:
– Peanut butter and maple syrup (treat yourself to the real maple kind!)
– A full fruit jam like lingonberry or blackberry jam
– Fresh sliced strawberries and blueberries drizzled with sweetened condensed milk
– For a savory alternative, consider poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.
– Caramelized onions, swiss cheese, spinach, and sautéed mushrooms
Instructions
1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl until they are well mixed.
2. Combine honey, milk, 1 Tablespoon butter, and egg in a separate bowl and whisk.
3. Create a small well in the center of the flour mix, pour in the milk and honey, then mix until smooth.
4. Grease a frying pan with the remaining 2 Tablespoons of butter and heat on a medium heat.
5. Just before pan starts to smoke pour batter onto pan (approx 1/4 cup of batter per pancake).
6. Allow batter to bubble and wait until the bubbles begin to slow down and reduce in frequency (approx 3 mins)
7. Flip and cook until brown on the other side (approx 2 min)
