We are getting closer and closer to Go Play NW 2013, and there are some important deadlines right around the corner.
Thursday June 6th is the last day for room rentals and T-shirts! If you do not buy your tickets by this day, you will not be able to rent an on-campus room or order a T-shirt. We are fortunate to be able to offer on-campus housing at an incredibly reasonable rate in the dorms for attendees, right in the same building where Go Play NW is taking place.
Friday June 21st the game sign-up forums close! Go Play NW always has a mix of scheduled, ad-hoc, and pickup gaming. If you want to pre-schedule a game or sign up for one, go check out the game sign up forum now.
Monday June 24th is the day that we need GMS and facilitators to provide a finalized player list. This is so we can print out accurate lists to post at the con. If there are open slots, players may still join the game at Go Play NW.

The game scheduling forums have been opened! Go get your game on!
At Go Play NW, there has always been a mix of prescheduling and pickup gaming, and this year will be no different.
Joining Games: The game scheduling forum is also your place to see what people are running and sign up to play. You don’t have to sign up for games for every slot, or even at all to enjoy the con, but it’s a great way to participate.
Pickup Games and the Donut: There will still be plenty of pickup gaming at Go Play NW. We’ll post a bit more about pickup gaming and the famous donut in the next several days.

I was walking by the Sasquatch’s cave this morning when instead of the usual snoring I heard growls and the rolling of dice. That means Go Play NW must be near! We’re going to up game schedule soon and start posting more information about this year’s con. See you soon!

Hi everyone, Go Play NW 2013 is practically around the corner. It’s time to start talking about who’s coming, what we’re excited about playing, what we might want to facilitate. Also, it’s a great time to pre-register. We have deposits that must be paid well before Go Play, so registering early really helps us out. We’re going to wait until a bit closer to Go Play to open up the “official” scheduling forum so people have time to talk and think before they commit to something.
Old hands will be happy to know that we are back at Seattle University for the second year in a row! This gives us a chance to build on our success last year and think of ways to improve this year.
If you’re new to Go Play NW 2013, here’s a short primer: GPNW is an independent-minded gaming convention held this year June 29-30 in Seattle. Our focus is on getting together to make friends and play games. We have a strong mix of pre-scheduled games (organized through the forums) and pick-up games (organized in a pre-slot pickup session before each gaming block). We’ve always got a high percentage of game designers and DIY-ers, so there are always lots of interesting games to check out.

Go Play NW 2013 tickets are now on sale! Visit the Go Play NW 2013 Registration Page now to buy your tickets.
We’re back at Seattle University this year. Like last year, on-site overnight accommodations are avaialable in the Seattle University dorms. It’s a really good deal for both out-of-towners and locals as well. Check out the ticketing page for details.
Second, as part of our deal with the University, lunch in Seattle University’s Cherry Street Market cafe is included in the price of admission for all attendees. If you’re renting a room on campus for the con, you’ll also get breakfast at the cafe.
Finally, as with previous years, there will be a Friday night feast in the main hall.
I urge everyone who’s coming to buy your tickets early. Even though we’re not having an early registration deadline this year, paying early helps us pay our bills and deposits in advance of the event!
Feel free to contact us with questions or comments at info at goplaynw.org.

What an awesome Go Play NW!
The Sasquatch was just whispering in my ear to tell everyone that there are two new forum areas you should look at: Afterglow: The Good, The Bad, & The Awesome is a place to talk about this Go Play, what you liked, what you did, and how we can make it better next year!
Also, Afterglow: What we Played is the place to talk about the games youp layed. Post in this forum with the slot and title of the game you played to talk about your game and reconnect with the people you played with.

Over the years, we’ve had a lot of fun at Go Play NW, and the biggest contributing factor to that success is the people who attend. As you’re getting ready for Go Play, here are a few tips to having a great con that we’ve garnered over the years:
Come ready for fun: Come to Go Play with an open mind. Be ready to try some games and share some old favorites. Don’t sweat your con planning too much. We’re a friendly crowd and we help each other have a good time.
Bring your game: It’s always a good idea to bring some games to share. If you’re a game-master, bring something to run just in case, or bring along a board game you like to play to share in a quiet gaming slot. We rely on the community to provide the gaming and more games means a better con for all.
Introduce yourself: If you’re a Go Play veteran, look around for those people who might be new to you and introduce yourself. You might be gaming across from this person during the weekend. If you’re new, don’t be afraid to come up and say Hi. Most of us don’t bite (except sometimes the Sasquatch).
Relax: Everybody has something different to offer. Not every gamer is a game master or social maestro. So relax, kick back, and have some fun.
See you on Friday!
Coming soon: Venue maps and registration details!
